Every choice you make adds up to create the planet you are choosing. The Buddhist monks live by a series of slogans. My favorite slogan is: Drive all blames into one. I love this slogan because it empowers me. If i pass blame for my life, or even the quality of the world, then my state of mind is that of a victim. When I understand that the life I am living is due to the choices i am making then I have the power to change or remain on my current path. It does no good to point your finger at big companies or the government or your significant other. Even if you do your best to attend public protest and sign all the right petitions you would be better off spending 15 minutes sitting with yourself. How can someone go to a public demonstration, complaining about the environment, while attending they are dressed head to toe in polyester? I can not blame them for their ignorance. I can only blame myself for not creating more choices for them to purchase and also for not getting the word out enough on how radically harmful polyester really is. I will do better to offer more organically farmed choices. I am trying to get the word out, but I can do better. If you are receiving this Blog post than chances are you are aware and you are doing your best. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the word out to people who are not aware of conscious consumer choices ?
