My visit w/ Elena Brower in NYC at VIRAYOGA
June 26, 2013
While in New York I had the opportunity to take Elena Brower’s class at VIRAYOGA. I have heard so many great things about her teaching, but this experience exceeded my expectations. This noon, mid-week class had nearly 50 people. Elena’s sequence was mindfully constructed offering deep openings and careful adjustments. She walks you through each movement, posture, and muscle with precise instruction. The 15 minute savasana and seated mediation was beyond words. Most powerfully, it was Elena’s light that shined through. Elena Brower is elegant, confident, inspiring and simply beautiful. Like many of us, she is a woman wearing many hats, a Yogi, Mother, Co-owner of VIRAYOGA, Author of Art of Attention, Beauty Ecologist, Yoga Teacher and Conscious Enthusiast. As a Beauty Ecologist with Pangea Organics, she has 350 people on her team, leading and motivating others by example. Elena stands behind her values and inspires others to do so too. She has the ability to lead masses of people through larger-scale yoga experiences, but her true service and passion is in shifting awareness within the smallest interactions; one family, one household at a time. Thank you, Elena Brower, for your selfless service, gentle touch and inspiration.
Elena can be found worldwide teaching at large festivals including Wanderlust & Burning Man. While in New York City she teaches at the studio she co-founded Virayoga, on Tuesdays & Thursdays at noon as well as Saturdays at 11am. Virayoga will be hosting Elena Brower's Art of Attention Teacher's Training beginning this September and continuing through March 2014. The program will meet a total of seven times, one weekend each month and is designed for yogis whom have already completed at least a 200hr Teacher Training.
